Give a warm CFEF welcome to our newest trainer, Coach Michael Falco! Read more about him below. CrossFit Level 1 Trainer CrossFit Judges Course CPR/First Aid/AED Certified I jumped into the world of CrossFit late in life in an effort to get healthy and change my stars… At 49 years of age, I was a father of 4, step father of 3 (yes, that’s seven in total) and a grandfather of 3. I flew all over the world for work and had your typical stress filled life. Well, it caught up with me and I suffered an MI (Heart Attack). My Doctors recommended I lose the stress and regain my physical fitness. I have always been active in some kind of way, whether it was hiking, playing softball, coaching football or training batting practice. Athletics had always had a place in my life but I let work take that away from me. I knew i needed to reprioritized my life and realized fitness had to be a top priority. CrossFit saved me and got me back on the right path. Now, 4 years later I have taken that next step and decided to start training and coaching CrossFit. I am a 53 years old, a 17 year Navy Veteran. Growing up, I played Football and Baseball… but in my neighborhood there were 11 boys so we played just about any sport you can imagine. Athletics is in my blood. I played team based sports for about 10 years giving me a well-rounded understanding of sport movements and fundamentals. I assisted with batting (swing, stance and contact) fundamentals for 2 years, at the college level, while Stationed at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where I taught Thermodynamics for 3 years. I suffer from Osteoarthritis, so I understand the importance of proper body movement and how to work through and around limitations brought on by the condition. I grew up in the Dickinson/Clear Lake/Pasa-get-down-dena area and Have traveled around the world 3 times. An avid chef, I am a lover of food, so keeping active is even that much more important.
